Cookies Policy
Introduction
This Cookies Policy explains how EDC4IT uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. Read this alongside our Privacy Policy for complete information about personal data processing.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when visiting a website. They help websites function efficiently and provide site owners with information. Learn more at www.allaboutcookies.org.
A third-party cookie is one set by a company other than the site you are visiting, which is how advertising networks follow you from one website to the next. We set none.
No Third-Party Cookies
We have removed every third-party tracker from this website. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Apollo and the Google Tag Manager container that loaded them are gone; the Facebook/Meta Pixel was removed before that. No advertising network, analytics vendor or social platform runs code on these pages.
Nothing on this website is loaded from an outside company. The services we do use are ones we host ourselves, on our own domain and our own infrastructure, which is why nothing here belongs to anybody else.
What We Store On Your Device
On www.edc4it.com
This website sets no cookies at all. A small amount of information is kept in your browser's local storage so the site behaves sensibly between visits:
- Your preferred currency, so prices are shown the way you last chose
- Whether you have dismissed our privacy notice, so it is not shown again
- Which of our surveys you have already seen, so you are not asked twice
None of this identifies you, none of it is sent to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes all of it.
Our Other Services
Some pages embed services that we run ourselves on our own subdomains. These may set cookies of their own, needed to make the service work. They are still our cookies, on our domain, on servers we operate:
- cal.edc4it.com — booking a conversation with a trainer
- desk.edc4it.com — our help desk and the live chat window
- forms.edc4it.com — the occasional feedback survey
We deliberately went to the trouble of self-hosting each of these rather than using the vendor-hosted versions, precisely so that no data about your visit leaves our infrastructure.
Cookieless Analytics
We measure how the website is used with Plausible Analytics, which we host ourselves on our own servers in the EU. It is described here for transparency even though it sets no cookies at all:
- Sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device
- Does not retain your IP address; it is discarded after processing
- Cannot follow you across other websites and builds no profile of you
- Data stays on our own infrastructure — it is never sold or shared
- Records only aggregate figures: pages viewed, approximate visitor numbers, referring site, country, browser and device type
This is the reason you are not asked to make a cookie choice on this site. Consent exists to give you a say over tracking; there is no tracking here to have a say over.
Managing Cookies
Control cookies through browser settings. Limiting cookies may affect user experience. Find instructions for:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Edge
For other browsers, consult official documentation.
Why There Is No Cookie Banner
We used to ask you to accept or decline cookies, because we ran Google Analytics and advertising tags that required your consent. Those are gone. What remains sets no third-party cookies and builds no profile of you, so there is no longer a decision for us to ask you to make.
In place of the old banner you will see a short notice, once, telling you this. Dismissing it changes nothing about what we collect; it simply stops us repeating ourselves.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Check regularly for latest cookie practices.
