Scala Training
Deep, instructor-led Scala training: Scala 3 and 2.x masterclasses, Scala 3 migration, Cats & Cats-Effect, Pekko/Akka, testing, SBT and http4s.
Scala rewards teams that learn it properly, and punishes teams that treat it as "Java with fewer semicolons". Our Scala curriculum is one of the deepest available anywhere: from first principles to the typelevel ecosystem, taught by trainers who write Scala for real systems.
Core masterclasses and the Scala 3 transition
The Core Scala 3 Masterclass teaches the language as it is today: its type system, contextual abstractions and functional core, while the Core Scala 2.x Masterclass remains available for teams maintaining established codebases. For organisations making the jump, the dedicated Scala 3 upgrade course focuses precisely on what changes, what breaks and how to migrate with confidence.
The ecosystem, covered end to end
Real Scala systems are built on an ecosystem, and we cover it in depth: Cats and Cats-Effect (for both current and 2.x versions) for teams adopting pure functional programming, FS2 and http4s for streaming and HTTP services, and classic Pekko/Akka (actors, HTTP, persistence, remoting and streams) for the many production systems built on the actor model. Supporting courses in Scala testing (including mocking and property-based testing), the SBT crash course and the broader Scala technology stack course round out a complete path. Teams working with event streaming can add Apache Kafka for Java/Scala developers.
Small groups, serious depth
Scala training lives or dies on the trainer's ability to answer the hard questions: about variance, about effect systems, about design trade-offs in your actual codebase. Our sessions are deliberately small and highly interactive, and private deliveries are tuned to your team's level, whether that's developers arriving from Java or experienced Scala engineers levelling up to typelevel libraries.
Delivery options
All Scala courses run as private sessions for your team (online or onsite across EMEA and beyond), and selected courses appear on our open-enrollment calendar. Sessions can be scheduled consecutively or spread out around delivery work.
